Five people died, three wounded in the road ambush along Juba – Nimule highway this morning, April 1st, 2021. South Sudan People Defense said a convoy comprised of trucks and trailers was attacked around the Obama village and Aru junction.
Gen: Santo Domic, deputy spokesperson of the SSPDF, claimed the attackers are from National Salvation Front – NAS, a group led by Gen Thomas Cirillo. Domic said the incident happened around 5 am this morning, and the attackers burned two vehicles.
“Those killed are truck drivers, and among the wounded person include a woman and boy who are south Sudanese.”
The National Salvation Front- NAS dismissed the accusation described it as “baseless and aimed at tarnishing the image of the Movement”.
NAS stated its commitment to the Cessions of Hostilities Agreement (CoHA) signed on 21st December 2017 in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, and to the Rome Declaration signed on 1ih January 2020 in Rome Italy.

Kenya Transporters Association issued travel advisory warned its trucks drivers not to uses the Yei -Juba road. “Following the increase incidences of insecurity, murder and violent crimes against foreign drivers, transporters are advised to withdraw their services with immediate effect until such such time security is guaranteed”
Last week, At least 10 people have been killed in three separate ambushes along the Juba-Yei road.
